A Bit Of This and That

Today was James' last day at nursery. It was quite an emotional experience as it's hard to believe my baby is growing up! Both my children have attended this nursery and it has been such a good experience for both of them. They have enjoyed learning, making and playing. At the end of the year we were given a book containing photographs of our children absorbed in some of their activities with a littl bit written about them and their progress. It is such a beautiful keepsake which we can look back on in years to come. As well as the normal activities they had a visit from the fire service and got to try out the hoses and try on the hats. They also had a visit from an animal sanctuary and got to hold a fox and a ferrett. James adored all this!

James with his teachers, Mrs Blair and Mrs Armstrong.

Matt, James and Joshua...the three amigos! At least they will be together next year at school.

Today would normally have been the Sewing/Knitting group in the local coffee shop, but due to the boys finishing up in nursery at the earlier time we decided to meet at my friend Margaret's house (Joshua's mummy). The boys had the opportunity to play together as we sat and crafted, chatted and ate!!

James in Joshua's Batman suit! How he stuck the heat I do not know!

I was teaching Niqi to crochet the Beanie hats but a little time had to be spent untangling wool first!!! Niqi, use the wool from the outside next time!!!!! LOL!!

Margaret is sewing a banner for her friend. Doesn't it look fabulous! It's given me lots of inspiration!Of course, no get together would be complete without yummies! I had planned to be inspired by Jane Brocket to make something but I think I am more like Chrissie in Calendar Girls! It was easier to cheat and go to M&S! The cup cakes were to die for and for the sake of the boys (HA!HA!) the jelly sweets had to be added!

When I got home this book had arrived in the post. So this afternoon, once the school run is over, I will close my eyes to the state of the house and kitchen sink, I will pour a nice cool drink, sit out in the sun and pore over my purchase and dream of beautiful prairie quilts adorning my house and bed!
Enjoy this beautiful day!

Now, Catherine, I'm thinking you're the lady to trot along to my blog, and consider the possibility of taking up the fab offer to get lots of lovely books for your kiddies, make the best of that awesome social circle of yours, make a spot of cash, and make a difference too ... now how can you refuse? {vbg}

Thanks for stopping by! Yes, the Knight sticker book is fab. Do consider joining our team - you've got to fund that crafting habit of yours somehow! And you are MADE for the role!

Hey I have finally caught up with you at last. I kept forgetting the name of your blog believe it or not and it wasn't until I went into facebook that I actually found you again.

I do actually miss you a lot and I was looking at photos of the time I came to visit you - great memories.

My goodness Amy and James are both growing up so quickly - wow.

Love and hugs
